I would like to introduce to the Romanian community a Homeschooling group that was created 3 years ago.
Our group’s name is H.O.P.E at Home - which stands for Helping Other Parents Educate at Home, The idea of this group in the beginning was and still is to help other parents understand what homeschooling is and how to begin and thrive homeschooling.
In September 2013, we started this group with only 6 families that were Homeschooling and wanted to do things together, be helpful, and encourage each other in this fairly new journey for some of us. Now we have 25 families and the group is growing every year.
Our very first step was to bring encouragement and support to others in the Romanian community who were either homeschooling already or were interested in getting started. With time we met and welcomed a Russian family as well.
Some of the families are part of this group just for the field trips and the gatherings whenever they can because the kids need to have extra activities as well. These field trips are optional and ongoing activities for whoever wants to attend, and I am very grateful for all the moms that help organize them.
Other moms are also involved in helping/supporting of existing and new families to homeschooling. We do not have a mandatory list for the families. Everyone can help if they want and are able to with whatever is on their hearts.
Our main goal is to have an stablished community of homeschoolers who encourage each other in their goals of educating their children at home and raising them in the fear of the Lord. Our group has helped so many families and we continue to be supportive and open to help others either from our group or outside the group.
